Heroin laced with elephant tranquilizer hits the streets

Cincinnati was the place where a batch of heroin was mixed with carfentanil and was responsible for overdoses and deaths in late August. This coming shortly after a public health warning in July when another 35 overdoses and 6 deaths happened in a three-day period. Heroin abuse, drug mixing known as “lacing”, and a recent trend in fentanyl all have converged making an epidemic even worse.
