Instant drug tests, rapid tests, or also known as point-of-care (POC) tests, offer an immediate result and efficient method for screening employees for drug use. An instant drug test typically uses urine or oral fluid (saliva) for the specimen. There are several panels available, and tests usually screen for a combination of the following drugs: amphetamine, methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, MDMA, PCP, and propoxyphene.
The result of an instant test is either negative or non-negative (inconclusive). An instant drug test is a screen and can’t officially give a “positive” result. For inconclusive results confirmation testing using a lab-based test is needed, inconclusive or non-negative specimen is sent to a laboratory for more accurate testing.
Call Minert and Associates today to see what panels are available for your testing needs. Custom panels are available and can include testing for drugs such as fentanyl.
